1 dead in overnight Pender County house fire

BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — Multiple fire agencies on scene of an early Friday house fire that left one dead.

According to a Pender County Emergency Services Representative, a call came in to 911 services at 1:40 a.m. alerting to a house fire in the 2000 block of Stag Park road. By the time fire crews arrived, the house was fully engulfed. The representative says one person died in the fire.

This is a multi-agency effort, and crews are still on scene.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
