Bladen County Sheriff’s Office: Driver hospitalized after officer-involved shooting

BLADEN COUNTY (WWAY) — The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office says one person was hospitalized after a car chase resulted in an officer-involved shooting.

According to a post on the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, BCSO deputies were called to assist the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office with a car chase around 3 a.m. Tuesday.

The pursuit ended in White Lake, where the driver brandished a weapon. Deputies from both departments fired shots the suspect, who was taken to the hospital.

No deputies were injured in the incident.

The State Bureaus of Investigation and the Bladen County District Attorney will investigate.
